Pregnancy Brain Strikes Again!

This time, pregnancy brain struck hard, real hard.

Yesterday, I went to the doctor and everything looked fine and we heard the heartbeat. I asked about flying and how long I could before I was cut off. She told me December so that means I was all set to book my trip to Columbia in November.

As soon as I get home, I email the girls to confirm Robyn's shower date and they do, so I go ahead and book my ticket. When I went on USAir the ticket has gone up over night. I thought that was strange but what was I going to do, not go? I get everything booked and I even email Robyn to tell her I am all booked for our fun weekend.

Fast forward to this morning. Normal morning, get Henry ready, drop him off at school, take Charlie's shirts to the dry cleaners. As I am driving to the dry cleaner my brain starts working. I think, you know Wendy confirmed the shower for the 20th, I don't remember booking my ticket for the 20th. Then panic sets in. I quickly park the car and fumble through my phone for the confirmation email..........There it was staring at me....

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 DEPARTURE

My first thought, OMG Charlie is going to kill me. This change is going to cost more then the ticket. Sure enough I called him and told him what I did and the first thing out of his mouth was "How much is this going to cost us?" I immediately search on my phone for a number to call USAir to see how much pregnancy brain has cost me this time.

Of course I dial and the first thing it tells me is that you can be charge a minimum of $150 to change your flight. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I ended up getting through pretty quickly and the guy on the other end says, "Ohh you're lucky, you booked this less then 24 hours ago so there is no fee to change it." I probably thanked the guy a million times. Told him about pregnancy brain and how my husband was going to kill me, he probably thought I was crazy but I didn't care, I was saved.

He also told me that if I would have booked through Expedia or another website other then USAir this would not have been the case and there would be a change fee. I actually looked at Expedia yesterday, phew!

Crisis was averted but this pregnancy brain has got to go!

Flashback!

So, I am driving to work or sitting in traffic, however you want to look at it, and Tim McGraw, Something Like That comes on. All of a sudden I am brought back to rainy weekend in 1999, to a trip to the Carolina Cup and a concert in Death Valley, Clemson.

Let me back up.......a couple weeks before this rainy weekend my "sisters" tell me they are taking me to a country concert in Clemson. I'm always up for a good time and pretty much a closet country fan, so I agree to go. It also happens to be the same weekend as the Carolina Cup, which was a big event in college.

The weekend finally arrives, I'm dating, not really dating this guy, you might know him. We all head out on a bus to the Carolina Cup. It was the safest way to get there and thank goodness we had friends who can organize something like this. We spend the day drinking, because what else would you do at the Cup but drink. At the end of the day, that guy I was dating, not really dating decided to make it official that we were dating - little did he know he would be married, have a son and a daughter on the way 12 years way. Poor guy must have had too much to drink.....and yes we all did. On the way back to the bus he was carrying a cooler with our friend, who decided he had to use the bathroom and didn't tell him  and just dropped the cooler. Boyfriend ended up dislocating his shoulder - don't ask and to this day he still has issues with it.

Anyway, we finally get back home and I'm like ok new boyfriend, sorry you are in pain but I have to go because I am headed to some country concert tomorrow. We said good bye and went back home. Didn't see or talk to him until Monday. I know crazy - a time way back when before cell phones. I found out on Monday that they took him to the emergency room to have his shoulder looked at - ooooppppps. Not a very good new girlfriend. Yes, I still get crap for leaving him.

Sunday we get up and drive to Clemson to this concert. It is raining but hey we are in college we don't care. We tailgate a little and then go in. I think the concert was like 6 hours long. There was some guy singing about how he thought his tractor was sexy. I was like what the hell am I listening too, of course how was I suppose to know that he is currently the hottest guy on the planet, but we live in learn. Then we listened to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw sing together and by themselves. They were my favorite. There were quite a few other singers but I can't remember who they were.

Then finally we get to some old man singing..........George Strait. I'm from New Jersey, I didn't know he was like a God to country music fans. Trust me, I know now because I love him and little did I know at the time, that that boyfriend was a huge fan of him too. I thought he was kind of boring but like I said I learned to love him.

After the concert we drive back home, singing all the great songs we had just heard. I can still remember thinking, how lucky I was to have such great friends to make such great memories with.

This morning when I was flashing back to all this, I also thought, I hope Henry and Mary are able to have memories like these and then of course my pregnancy hormones kicked in and I started crying, ha!

Pink Curtains ?!?!

How hard do you think it is to find pink curtains? Let me tell you.....IMPOSSIBLE!

Sure, you can pay $69 per panel at Pottery Barn, you know if you need one or two, I need SIX.  I don't think $414 for curtains for a nursery is acceptable. I do love you Pottery Barn Kids, but you can take your $69 perfect pink curtain and well you know what with it.

So, I search and I search and I search. I find some at Companykids.com, they want $39 per panel. This is a little more reasonable and I do have a free shipping coupon, but then I look $234 for curtains, I must be crazy. Although, they do have an adorable pink polka dot one, but I will keep looking.

JCPenney you have a good selection but most of the curtains are not the pink I need and then of course the one I like only comes in 63", I need 84". Foiled again!

I did find some on WalMart.com that are actually two pink panels for $24.99. WOW - great price, but I wonder about the quality. Are they a heavy cotton twill or just some cheap cotton that will go up in flames in a minute?

So, my search continues. I will find you perfect pink curtain you cannot hide from me much longer!

I'm Pregnant!

It has taken me 21 weeks to actually feel/look like I am pregnant. After getting ready this morning, I looked in the mirror and could see a bump. Not a bump that looks like a beer gut but an actual cute bump.

I feel that if people saw me (who didn't know me) would actually say or see that I was pregnant. I guess the baby moved up a little but to actually give me the rounder feeling in my belly.

I truly do enjoy being pregnant and now that I have a cute little bump it makes it more wonderful.

No reason - just posting

No reason to this post other then to show some pictures of Henry.

We arranged the playroom because well I like to rearrange furniture. You would have thought Henry had never been in the room before. He finished eating and wandered into the room. He started screaming, he was so excited. He played in there for about an hour.

I love watching him play because I love to see what imagintive thing he will do next. I could sit for hours if he would play that long.

After playing we headed upstairs for some teeth brushing and his bath.

He was super giggly tonight and I loved it.

AMAZING!

In July when we visited my parents in South Carolina, we had pictures taken by the amazing Kim Graham. Kim took pictures of Henry last year when we were in Charleston but before that she was our wedding photographer. The day we met Kim in 2005, I knew she was going to be the one taking our pictures for our wedding. I never even interviewed another one.

Once again she has amazed us with her skills. Besides the picture in my blog header here are four other pictures that she took. They are all amazing but these are just four of my favorite.

20 Weeks!

WHOA - 20 weeks, already! This pregnancy is flying by. I am in shock that I am half way there and that there are only 20 more weeks until we meet Mary!

The room is coming along. We know the paint color but we just have not bought it yet.

We are going to use Christopher Robin's swing - it is a green color with grey undertones. It doesn't look at dark as it does in the picture. Charlie is planning on doing crown molding to really make the color pop.

We are looking at these panels to add a little fun into the room.

I did purchase some pictures, a set of two birds and a big picture of some owls. All in fun colors. I am still on the hunt for a pink table and some kind of lamp. I was going to do a chandelier but we have decide to put a fan in instead. So practical of us....

I know what I want for over the crib but that is going to have to get my creative side moving. Nothing too hard, I just need to go and look for some fabrics.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

" I CAN'T"

"I can't" seems to be Henry's new favorite phrase around the house. Henry, it is time for a bath...I can't, Henry it's time for dinner, I can't, Henry you want to go to school, I can't. Then my favorite part, you ask him why he can't and he says "Because, I can't".

He's getting too smart for us these days. Besides saying, I can't all the time, he is other go to phrase is "You have got to be kidding me" and "C'mon". He uses them at the right times too!

He is also a big hand talker. If he doesn't want you to do something or if he doesn't want something, the hand comes out to make his point even more.

Look at this picture - I bet he was saying "C'mon". Please excuse his messy shirt, it was a long day of tailgating and he got a little dirty.

I guess my baby is growing up and creating his own little personality. Too bad it is like Mussolini, but I am sure it will change again.

M.E.N

Mary Elizabeth Nardiello.........M.E.N - our daughter's initials. It is kind of cute and a little funny that this is what her name will spell, but we like it.  I just think we will be putting the N in the middle for monograms.

We have a little family history behind her name. Not only is it my mom's name, but also both of Charlie's grandmothers are named Mary. We can't think of three stonger women, except of course Charlie's mom and that is where the Elizabeth comes into play.  I also had a great Aunt Mary - another no nonsense kind of women and then Charlie has a great Aunt Mary too.

As you can see, our family is filled with Mary's.

We also like the sound of Henry and Mary. We think it has a good flow to it.

Five for Friday - Shopping Spree!

I've been on a shopping spree this past week and it has been fun!!!! I didn't only buy stuff for baby girl but I also bought clothes for Henry and myself. Charlie did a Birthday gift in there too.

Of course Baby Girl N got the most so I will show some things I have bought for her this past week.

1. Hayley Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. We got the bumper, the crib sheet and the crib skirt. We never used the quilt that came with H's so we opted out of this one. Saved us a little money. Charlie wants to put up a chair rail and I am thinking we will do two tones of green with pink curtains.

2. New Boppy cover, some bottles and Changing Pad Cover. A girl has to have the necessities.

3. A bird rug to go in her new room. It was just too cute and on sale.

4. Fisher Price Rock and Play - people swear by these and it was on sale so I scooped it up.

5. Clothes - lots and lots of clothes! This is only a sample. My mom has bought stuff in SC and her Grandma bought her lots of cute things too!

It has been fun shopping but now I'm done until we get the room painted and situated the way we want. Then I will go on a tear decorating!

Are you Ready for some Football?

Henry is! Today was Jersey day at school and he was so excited to wear his Redskin jersey.

This morning when he jumped into our bed, he told me he had to go get dressed into his jersey. Then he kept saying, "Hut, Hut" around the house. He wanted me to tackle him too but I said he would have to wait until Daddy got home to do that.

The Today Show was taping from Green Bay. He sat and watched the whole segment they had about the team. Maybe he will be a Packer's fan in the end. I did teach him for the SuperBowl "Go Pack Go", so maybe he remembered that.

He is ready to watch some football tonight and this weekend! Yay, for football season!

Ultrsound Pictures

Here are some pictures from our ultrasound last Friday. The tech was amazing, even though she was a Florida Gator ;) She really took her time and did not rush us. We were there for at least an hour watching our baby girl.

Baby Girl actually showed us her goods within the first three minutes of the appointment. The tech asked us if we were ready to know and I was floored that it was already time. I guessed boy, but she said 100% girl - no doubt in her mind. She also confimred that about three more times for us while taking the measurements.

I'm pretty floored at these pictures and the technology. Henry is only going to be 3 and these pictures are unreal compared to his.

We are so truly blessed that our little girl is growing on track. I think the tech even told us that she weighs about 6 ounces. It was such a wonderful morning and one that we will never forget.

IT'S A..............

We are over the moon that we will be having a little girl! Henry is excited but he still tells you he is having a little brother ;) The ultrasound went great and she is measuring right on track. I will post some sonogram pictures when we get home from Albany.

Enjoy the Labor Day weekend!
