This time, pregnancy brain struck hard, real hard.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor and everything looked fine and we heard the heartbeat. I asked about flying and how long I could before I was cut off. She told me December so that means I was all set to book my trip to Columbia in November.
As soon as I get home, I email the girls to confirm Robyn's shower date and they do, so I go ahead and book my ticket. When I went on USAir the ticket has gone up over night. I thought that was strange but what was I going to do, not go? I get everything booked and I even email Robyn to tell her I am all booked for our fun weekend.
Fast forward to this morning. Normal morning, get Henry ready, drop him off at school, take Charlie's shirts to the dry cleaners. As I am driving to the dry cleaner my brain starts working. I think, you know Wendy confirmed the shower for the 20th, I don't remember booking my ticket for the 20th. Then panic sets in. I quickly park the car and fumble through my phone for the confirmation email..........There it was staring at me....
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 DEPARTURE
My first thought, OMG Charlie is going to kill me. This change is going to cost more then the ticket. Sure enough I called him and told him what I did and the first thing out of his mouth was "How much is this going to cost us?" I immediately search on my phone for a number to call USAir to see how much pregnancy brain has cost me this time.
Of course I dial and the first thing it tells me is that you can be charge a minimum of $150 to change your flight. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I ended up getting through pretty quickly and the guy on the other end says, "Ohh you're lucky, you booked this less then 24 hours ago so there is no fee to change it." I probably thanked the guy a million times. Told him about pregnancy brain and how my husband was going to kill me, he probably thought I was crazy but I didn't care, I was saved.
He also told me that if I would have booked through Expedia or another website other then USAir this would not have been the case and there would be a change fee. I actually looked at Expedia yesterday, phew!
Crisis was averted but this pregnancy brain has got to go!
