Happy 5th Birthday!

No better way to round out the year than celebrating Henry's 5th Birthday. It blows my mind that he is 5 today.

I mean five years ago, we were staring at this cute face:

and now we are staring at this smart, funny, always keeping us on our toes, sweet face....

Happy Birthday, Bugga! We love you!!!!

Donald the Elf is Listening

Now, I know it doesn't look like Donald did anything crazy, but he did, he blew Henry's mind.

Our stocking holders are a Santa and three reindeer. Mary is Santa and the rest of us reindeer. Last night, Henry kept asking why he couldn't be the Santa stocking holder and that Mary needed to be the reindeer. We told him that the stockings go in family order and since Mary is the baby, she has to be last.

Well, Donald must have heard him because his mind was blown this morning when the stockings were switched and he was now the Santa. The reaction was priceless, simply priceless. "Mom, mom, he must have heard me last night." "I can't believe he moved my stocking." Saying this while jumping up and down.

Sometimes it's the little things that really make them smile. Can't wait until tomorrow morning!

Mumbo Jumbo

I don't even know where to begin because life is crazy around here. A good crazy, don't get me wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to wake up and my favorite month is going to be over.

You see that sign.....

Yeah, we are five days away from Disney. No big deal. I've tried to start packing but it's hard when it's 40 and raining and snow is coming on Sunday. I did dig out some shorts and lighter pants for the kids but that is about it.

You know besides a trip to Disney, there is Christmas shopping, wrapping and cards that need to go out. I can't check any of that off my list. So close on the shopping, but not one gift is wrapped. Luckily, Charlie and I are just doing stocking stuffers because as it stands, he has nothing. I wouldn't be too concerned about this but when we get back from Disney, I leave for NJ three days later for a work trip and return just in time to slide into Henry's Christmas party at school.

So, that gives me this weekend and the weekend before Christmas to get everything done for Christmas. It's going to be touch and go.

I am fully committed to not thinking about work or all the Christmas stress while at Disney. We are there to have a great time and relax. Hmmm, relax with an almost 2 year old that will probably knock people down to get to the front of the line to see characters.Take this picture for example,  where she took it upon herself to climb to the top of the changing table to play.

For now I will focus on the joys of the kids faces when they see Donald the Elf every morning and we will enjoy some Christmas movies this weekend. Here is  Donald from last night.

Finally, I look forward to seeing their faces light up when we walk into Disney next week.  Must always remember to think about the happiness and joy and not the stress this time of year can bring.

North Pole Breakfast

This morning we welcomed Donald back to our house for the Holidays. Henry was pretty darn excited and Mary well she just enjoyed the snow covered donuts.

If you noticed Donald did a change of positions. Henry was certain that he'd be on the lamp when he woke up this morning. Donald must have jumped up before Henry and Mary came down.

Tis the Season!
