Sneak Peep

I brought out my inner Sandra Lee this past week and have been working on my tablescape for Easter dinner. My theme for dinner is Peeps and I'm pretty excited at how things turned out.

The centerpiece is a double vase. The large outside jar is from WalMart and the inside vase is just a square vase I had laying around. I have two of these for my table. This idea was taken from Pinterest. Filled it with jelly beans from the dollar store, a little Easter grass and then the peeps.

Here is my place setting for the tablescape. The chevron is a table runner from Pick Your Plum - very cool website. This is laid over a pink tablecloth. I made the peep cut out on my silhouette, along with the name cut out. I found the peeps on a stick idea on Pinterest and thought they were adorable.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole tablescape come together. I have a few little add ons for my table and it will be all compete.

Happy Easter!

Hippity Hoppity

Took the kids to see the Easter Bunny today. This could have gone one of two ways....great or an epic fail. Surprisingly, it went great. Mary wasn't scared of a large bunny with buck teeth - I guess she saves that for plump men with beards.

Play Ball!

Today marked the first day of what I'm sure will be a long road....Henry started baseball.

We went a few weeks ago and got all his gear. Imagine shopping for a cup for a four year old, you can't, well neither could I. We did find something that worked. We also got the white pants, red socks (that are way too big) and some cleats. He had a glove so we were good there. All this for a four year old to play blast ball. We aren't even at T-Ball level, yet.

Henry kept asking to wear his pants and oddly enough his new "underwear". We told him it was only a week or so away. He was getting pretty excited and kept asking to practice in the yard. Charlie of course did not deny the request.

The day finally came and he was ready. Dressed and ready.

Dad couldn't take him to the practice because he had another obligation (cough, something dorky, cough, cough). I know Charlie was heart broken he could not take him but it was what it was. So, H and I packed up and headed over to the field. His face lit up when he pulled. "Mom, do I get to play on the REAL field." "Yes, Henry, you do."

We practiced some basics and ran some drills. Then the best part for any four year old, they got to run the bases and sit in the dug out. You would have thought we were buying every Star Wars toy in TRU the way their faces were beaming. It was great to see then all so excited.

After a little talk from the trainer, it was time, it was time to run the bases. They were ready........

I'm pretty sure if we told Henry, that was it for baseball for the year he would be set. He got to run the bases. You don't realize how big a deal it is to them, until you see how excited they get. Even tonight at a party, Henry said something about being on the field and the little girl next to him was like "YOU WERE ON THE FIELD?????." It was so cute.

So our first practice is in the books, we ran the bases and we are ready for next week.

In this Edition....

In this edition of where's Mary, we find her here....

Yep, she climbed up and made herself cozy on the tv stand in our bedroom. She was very happy playing there and trying to get those sunglasses on.

PS - I swear we have other pajamas ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Easiest Pin EVER.

If you need a cute and EASY Easter project or just something to spruce up the house, I suggest you make the Easter Egg garland.

It cost me $2.00 and about ten minutes of my time. I just can't believe this is the first time I'm doing this.

Step 1....Go to Dollar Store and get a package of 18 eggs. Then buy some twine or use thread.

Step 2...Make a pattern if you want.

Step 3...Then thread the twine through the holes that are in the eggs. Seriously why did I not know about this before.

Step 4...Close the egg and repeat.

Step 5...Hang it up.

Looks cute and took this working mom 10 minutes to make.
