Eye Doctor

This morning we spent two hours at the eye doctor not with Henry but with Mary. Henry would have lasted maybe 10 minutes. Mary on the other hand was roaming the halls, talking to the nurses, making older people smile and inspecting the whole office.

We took Mary because I've noticed her right eye turning in. Most people don't see it and we usually notice it more in pictures then anything else. I've asked our pedi and they told us for peace of mind, just take her to the eye doctor, so that is what we did.

And apparently mother's intuition is correct, her right eye goes in, her left eye a little too but not as much as her right. Oh and her left pupil is slightly bigger than her right. She has what is called Stabismus. It can be managed with glasses, it could correct its self or she could need surgery. Right now we are monitoring it to see what happens. We go back in August to see if anything improved or if it possibly got worse. Our next step would be glasses.

Most people don't notice what she has and that is a good sign. The less it happens the less chance of glasses. Since its not that apparent and less than 50% there is less concern and hopefully it will stay that way.

Here are some pictures from our visit.

The last one of Elmo is how we kept her busy while we waited. I think Elmo called over 20 times.

The appointment took about two hours and I'd say I was very impressed with Mary. She smiled and laughed through most of the tests and were knocking people out with her blue eyes and smile.

I'm glad we went and I feel better that we are on the right track to fixing what is wrong.

Let's say that D was for Diva not Dad this morning.....

Going to have to try again later for an A. I have the D ones but someone didn't want her brother in the pictures. She kept pushing him off the chair. Hopefully, I can get something...stay tuned.

First Day - Last Day

First Day of Dragonflies

Last Day of Dragonflies

Apparently he doesn't like the first or the last day of school. Monday he is moving up to the Fireflies for the summer. He's leaving all his friends but they will be reunited in the Fall.

It has been a great school year. Henry has really changed and made so many improvements. I have to credit his teacher Miss Diane, she has been so great and really connected with Henry. It helps so much when a teacher is willing to work with your child and Henry just loves her. I know he is going to miss her the most. Even though he will still see her outside and in the school.

Looking forward to a fun summer camp and I know Henry can't wait.

Crafting - Vinyl Crazy

The past few weeks I have been taking some time and getting some good use out of my Silhouette machine. I was making banners and name tags from paper but I thought I would try my hand a vinyl. I have to say I was a little scared to work with it, but now that I do, holy cow - I want to put vinyl on everything!

I watched a quick tutorial on YouTube and I was off. I was honestly nervous the first time I tried it. I didn't have transfer tape (for you non vinyls out there, it's how you get the vinyl to the wall) and I peeled off each letter and stuck them on. I was like oh not so hard, then I went in and used the transfer tape. Ummm, easy as pie, not sure what I was afraid of.

Now, while I am no means a pro at any of this, I have gotten to the point that I look for things to put vinyl on because I might say I'm addicted. Let me show you....

A journal for a friend that is traveling to Greece....

A carry all bag for Henry....

Plastic bins so Henry can throw his random toys in....

Hard Plastic Solo cups for my brother and Charlie for the 4th of July...

Shhh...a surprise for a friend - SURPRISE!

Henry's doorway....

There is one picture missing, I did another vinyl for Henry's room that says Play Ball. I guess I can reveal that when I show you his baseball room. It's almost done and he is loving it.

Anyway, you can see how much fun I am having. I haven't tackled anything grand just yet and all the items pictured, were no more than a dollar, maybe that notebook was $2, maybe. The vinyl came from a site called Pick Your Plum and was super cheap. I'm hoping soon to get more colors of vinyl and get to things that might be a little harder to design, but for now I'm happy just playing around.
