" I See You"

Mary stringed three words together this morning. I was in the pantry and she shut the door and then opened it and said " I see you." We play peek a boo a lot and that is what I always say to her. It was just too cute.

Then daycare sent these pictures today and I could totally hear her saying, " I say you."

My favorite time of the year

I don't know how to explain how much I love the next three months. I am in all my glory - I love the weather, the decorations, the leaves changing, the crisp mornings, football even more, the excitement from the kids, the candy, I could go on and on.

So, we kicked off my favorite time of the year and went apple picking. We headed out west into the mountains to an orchard called Stribling. It is gorgeous out there. We picked apples, we ran through the orchard, we ate apples and we took pictures. It was a little warmer then I would have liked but it was honestly, perfect. Mary and Henry had such a great time and the fresh air was good for everyone.

After apple picking, we headed home and Mary napped and I well, I got the itch that it was time to bring out the witch. I started to decorate for Halloween. Yes, my rule is Oct 1st but that is only tomorrow and the weather was so gorgeous, so why not. It's still a work in progress, but it's getting there. This is the front porch. It still needs a little something but I don't know what yet.

Here is the mantle, this is complete. The rag wreath came from Two Little Birds (her shop link is over on the side of the blog), the spiders from Target last year, The Boo from HomeGoods. I think it turned out great this year. I do something a little different every year to it.

The rest I will post later this week. I need to finish up some odds and ends on the dining room table and the front hallway. The outside will take shape over time. We are throwing a kids Halloween party on Oct 25th, so I want the outside to be extra special this year.

I am so excited to experience the next three months with the kids. Henry is getting excited and Mary well she will get there.

Happy Fall Y'all.

Stop.

Who are these kids?

Is it me or do they look older? I swear they both grew an inch over night. When Mary stands by the tv, her head is clearly over the top of the stand now. She barely fits under the island in the kitchen and the kitchen table is becoming her worst nightmare.

Henry has outgrown every pair of pants and all his long sleeve shirts have turned into short sleeve shirts.

How can this be?

Where are my babies? Where is the leg chub? Where are those big round chubby cheeks they both had?

I know it's right there but I just can't believe it. I feel like they are growing up over night. Her attitude is that of a 12 year old, her tantrums of a two year old, but her smile, that, will melt your heart. He's a feisty one and his talking back makes you want to scream, but he can give you one look and you smile from ear to ear.

Just maybe, they could slow down a little or maybe I need to come to terms that my babies are growing up........

Nah....forever my babies they will be.

More Fashion!

In the picture, you may see a bib....I see more of my Fashionista coming out.

We got dressed, picked out our shoes and she went to her drawer and pulled out the bib. There were many colors in there but she picked the one that matched. Please also note that she is carrying Daisy, even more great color combination.

Oh and these, all these are coming to my little Diva. A wonderful friend I buy clothes from was very happy to sell me these shoes that her daughter wore. I can't begin to tell you how excited Mary is going to be about them. We are all set for Fall with these shoes.

Toddlers, take note of the bib and the shoes. These trends are coming and I think you need to be ready.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It's not only Friday the 13th, it's also Charlie's Birthday! Happy Birthday to the best Dad and husband around. Of course we did our annual Beatles and Balloons to wake him up this morning. Henry was totally into it, Mary not so much, but a fun time was had by all.

This picture was from last night....

(I really need a new phone that takes better pictures).

Happy Birthday, we love you lots and can't wait to celebrate again later!

Never Forget.

They are too young too understand but they (Henry) know that today is an important day in America. Someday, we will explain to them about today but for now they will wear their red, white and blue and be proud to be an American.

As a mother, I thank all the heros that day and I thank our troops for protecting us each and every day. Thank you.

20 Months

Today is the 10th and that means that Mary is 20 months. In four months, she's going to be 2, ummm, yeah, no, not ready for that. It's going so fast and she is changing so much. Watch this video.

Sorry about the bad video skills on the kiss part. She didn't want to blow me a kiss but rather give me one.

She knows all her body parts for the most part and usually repeats them. She is in love with her Big Brother. If she is in a room and he comes in, she is yelling "Enry". If I show her new clothes, she gets pretty excited and goes "Whooooaaaaaaaaaaa, pretty." I pat myself on the back for that one. She is also in love with shoes. We get up and she has to put her shoes on, she even takes a bath with them on.

The cutest thing she does, when we say it's time for night night, she runs to the steps and sticks her head to the rails and puts her lips out. She waits for her Daddy to come over and kiss her. She then goes to the next spindle and waits for another kiss. I really need to get that on video.

Her favorite word and thing to eat is cheese. She runs to the fridge and tries to get it out herself. Her eating is still pretty good and she will eat anything you put in front of her but her she doesn't really like to sit and eat. She is always on the go and she never walks, just runs.

I think I might start her in dance in the winter. They have a Mommy and Me dance class and I'm pretty sure she will love it.

All in all she is doing great. We don't go back to the doctor until her 2nd Birthday but I'm pretty sure she is gaining and growing everyday.

Photoshoot - Consignment

I was going to post about how much I'm loving consigning clothes and that I'm in shock of all the great finds I have gotten for Mary. My model on the other hand, was not very cooperative.

I think she got confused when I told her to say cheese because she went running to the fridge and had to have a cheese stick before school.

Her whole outfit was less than $20. Polo tunic and designer jeans, crocs were her touch and those were her brother's. The top and bottom were bought off our neighborhood shopping sites - we've got some good dressers around here. It's now become a fun game to see what I can find and I'm loving creating her wardrobe so inexpensively.

Who knew?

The "last" First Day

Today, was the last first day of Preschool. Next year the big league, I will be an emotional mess but my wallet will be smiling. I got teared up this morning just dropping him off to the same place, I've taken him for two years, can't imagine next year.

Here's to a great year in the Bumblebees. He was reunited with all his friends and he was smiling from ear to ear. Sydney showed him his cubby and he was excited to show Ms. Patel his R2D2 lunch box. A little obsessed with Star Wars and Star Wars Legos, but who can blame him. I can't wait until I pick him up and he tells me about his "last" first day.
