Five for Friday

Here's a list of five things that are on my mind this Friday.

1. Are we going to get an offer again? One that works for both parties and everyone can be happy with. Our realtor is doing an amazing job, we are getting traffic - we just need that one person to fall in love with our house, like we did.

2. I have to go back to calling the house we were building the house of make believe because it isn't ours yet. Yes, we picked out everything and all that jazz but I can't believe it is ours until we have another strong offer in hand.

3. Will Digg have a good night tonight? The past few nights he has been screaming at bedtime. I am hoping it was just the full moon and it too shall pass. I miss my mommy and Digg time of reading books and rocking before night night.

4. We are going on a cruise in 40 days and I am so excited I could do cartwheels. This vacation is much needed for our family. I just hope we can go this trip with some peace of mind.

5. How did Paris not go to prison again but Lilo was put back in bars...............

5a. I need to do better with eating and staying active, I also need new clothes and shoes. I really want to go shopping but I know the money needs to be saved for the new house or selling our current house. I did treat myself to a Target trip but I only bought clothes for Diggs.

I know these are random thoughts and today I feel pretty random. My mind is all over the place and I am just looking forward to the weekend.

Football!

FOOTBALL is all Henry said for about five hours yesterday! It was the cutest damn thing.

We took him to his first Redskins game and boy did he have a blast! I have to say I was a little hesitant taking him but he was so good through the game. He sat on my lap and just yelled football. The noise did scare him at times and he clinched onto me but he really did love every minute of it.

Before the game we were able to get a Pre Game pass and go down to the field. Henry got to look into the Instant replay machine, meet a Hogette, have the kicker wave to him and even got his picture taken on the sideline. We have to give a special Thanks to Grandpa for having that all happen!

Hail to the Redskins, Hail Victory - well maybe next time they will win. It was a tough loss but it was a great day for our family!

The Digg

This blog started because I wanted to document my pregnancy and then it continued on to our life with Henry. I think it has probably been a month since I actually talked about my Digg so here is a little update on him.

It is crazy how much he has grown in the past couple months. Not just grown length wise but his vocabulary, his mannerisms and even his hair ;) Every morning I wake up to this smiling face that is ready to learn something new that day.

I was worried becuase he was not talking as much a few months ago, well that worry went right out the window. Digg does not stop talking now. Not everything makes sense, well to him it makes perfect sense, but to us we struggle a little. I think my favorite thing is when he says "Pease" and "Tank you". Makes this mama's heart melt.

He is also a huge fan of planes. He sounds like the guy from Fantasy Island, "the plane, the plane". I swear he can see them when they are a spec in the sky. When we are driving Henry will yell and we will be looking all over, then way back in the distancce you see this plane, no idea how he sees it. Then when the plane goes out of sight, he waves "Bye Bye, Plane"

There are about 100 other cute things that this child does and I could sit and write about them all day, but sigh I must go to work so here is quick list:

Animal Sounds - loves to say "Rawr"
Knows all of his body parts when you ask him
Loves to yell "Outside" while standing at the door
Says Night Night when it is time for bed
In the morning we eat breakfast and then he gets up and yells "School"
When we pull up in front of the pizza place he yells out "Pizza"
He calls Ellie, our dog, "Edog"

We love watching him and seeing what new things he is going to do each day!

One Big Roller Coaster

That is what our life has been like lately, one big roller coaster.

Everyone told us selling a house would be like this but I wasn't expecting it to be this crazy. We were very lucky and got an offer on our house in about 25 days. We were over joyed that we beat our October 21st deadline. Things were moving along but I refused to pack anything because I did not want to jinx the sale. We did hit a few loop do loops on our coaster ride but we were able to come back to ground. Still had packed nothing.

September came around and our closing date of the 15th was slowly upon us. We figured maybe we should start packing. This is where the coaster starts to go loop do loop, upside down and basically off the tracks. Boxes are everywhere, parents are coming to help, utilities are being turned off and we are getting ready to move out - then BAM the coaster goes off the track. We find out the buyer has decided to move on. Too much to explain but basically we felt like our coaster was stuck upside down and we were not going to get out.

We have tried to get our coaster back on track and have unpacked the boxes, hung the pictures on the wall and cleaned the house. I think we did a pretty good job of getting the house ready to sell again. As of today, we get to start this roller coaster ride all over again.

I haven't even mentioned that they started building our new house. They moved dirt last Friday and I am sure the foundation has already been poured and they are getting ready to put the rebar in. That roller coaster ride is a whole other story - I just hope that ride doesn't end on October 21st.

For now we move on, think positive thoughts and hope our coaster stays on track. I am sure there will be some loops and quick turns, but this time I want to return to the station and get off.

Craziness

Just wanted to make a quick post. Things are absolutely crazy around here! Packing, work, packing, Henry and did I mention packing?

I do have to give a huge Thank you to Jumping Jax Designs for creating my new blog look. Becca did a great job and I just am in love with the new look. She was very efficient and listened to what I wanted. Thanks, Becca!

This weekend was great - we took Diggs to the Port Discovery Museum in Baltimore and it was fabulous! I will have to write a review when things get a little less crazy around here but like I said we had a blast. If you have a children's museum near you, you should definitely check it out.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

Toddler Talk Thursday: Music

Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products.
It is a great way to meet other bloggers of toddlers.
Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!

This weeks topic in Toddler Talk is Music!

Henry loves music and is truly a dancing machine. We really don't listen to Toddler Music he is more into Michael Jackson's greatest hits and Train. Last night, I put some MJ on and he was dancing and hoping around the room. Big fan of Billie Jean and Don't Stop Till You Get Enough.

When Soul Sister by Train comes on the radio, his face lights up in the car and his legs get a little loco.

There is one "Toddler" song that will get him going and that is from Phineas and Ferb...Gitchee Gitchee Goo. There are no words to explain how excited he gets when this song starts. He will start just start hopping around and dancing like a crazy man.

I love that he loves "our" music. Charlie and I are big music fans and we are very happy that this is something that we are passing down to Henry.

We have a lot of You Know What!

Well we finally started packing and I have to say we have to much you know what in our house. I have no idea how we accumulated all this you know what in one little house.

As we are going through all this your know what I have been having some memory flashbacks. The other night I was wearing a cap from college graduation as we packed. Charlie thinks I might possibly be losing it, but I was trying to put humor in our packing.

I also found picture albums that I have not seen in awhile. A lot of Henry's old baby stuff, which then put me into shock because in four months I will be mom to a two year old. There was a trunk full of goodies from college, old pictures, Kappa letter shirts and other you know what that I had collected in college.

Then I found the mother load of memories, a black binder that was filled with memories from my childhood. I found my 13th Birthday party invitation, a Halloween party invite that my friend Erin and I had in 7th grade, articles I had written for the school paper, pictures from shore trips, some doodles on a back of paper that had my high school classes on it, the schedule for colorguard try outs and finally something that made me smile ear to ear - The Littlest Pumpkin script.

About two hours before I found this I was standing in the kitchen discussing Halloween with Charlie and how we used to do parades at school and that in 2nd grade we even put a skit on for our parents. I about teared up when I found this piece of paper. I looked at it and noticed I circled my lines, I then proceeded to recite them to Charlie. He wouldn't play the part of the boy so I read his part too ;) I can still remember standing in front of the classroom and doing this skit and I got this warm fuzzy feeling inside.

At that moment I realized even though we have all this you know what in our house some things are important to keep and I'm glad I kept a lot of that you know what.
