I've been on the hunt for a Jenny Lind bed. I only had been casually looking but now that I know the new house is in sight, I stepped it up.
The past two nights I have been scouring Craigslist, local furniture boards and google. I found then in cities no where near me but located one in Myrtle Beach. Logistically, it would be hard but I did contact and it was avaliable.
Then last night, I saw someone post about an estate sale and two beds for sale. I contacted the seller and they were available. She is in MD so it was doable and I was beyond excited, then I fell more in love. ..There was a story to go with it.
I told the lady that I was using it for my two year old daughter and that I was beyond excited that she was selling. She told me her mother was going to be so happy it was going to another mom, because way back when her mom bought them for her little girls (there were two beds). I was sold.
We ended up driving out there this afternoon and picking it up. They met Mary and they smiled. I think they felt good the bed was going to a loved home.
We will paint it but have not decided on the color just yet. Most likely white but maybe pink or lavender. I'm so excited to have this bed and have a story to go with it.
