One Big Roller Coaster

That is what our life has been like lately, one big roller coaster.

Everyone told us selling a house would be like this but I wasn't expecting it to be this crazy. We were very lucky and got an offer on our house in about 25 days. We were over joyed that we beat our October 21st deadline. Things were moving along but I refused to pack anything because I did not want to jinx the sale. We did hit a few loop do loops on our coaster ride but we were able to come back to ground. Still had packed nothing.

September came around and our closing date of the 15th was slowly upon us. We figured maybe we should start packing. This is where the coaster starts to go loop do loop, upside down and basically off the tracks. Boxes are everywhere, parents are coming to help, utilities are being turned off and we are getting ready to move out - then BAM the coaster goes off the track. We find out the buyer has decided to move on. Too much to explain but basically we felt like our coaster was stuck upside down and we were not going to get out.

We have tried to get our coaster back on track and have unpacked the boxes, hung the pictures on the wall and cleaned the house. I think we did a pretty good job of getting the house ready to sell again. As of today, we get to start this roller coaster ride all over again.

I haven't even mentioned that they started building our new house. They moved dirt last Friday and I am sure the foundation has already been poured and they are getting ready to put the rebar in. That roller coaster ride is a whole other story - I just hope that ride doesn't end on October 21st.

For now we move on, think positive thoughts and hope our coaster stays on track. I am sure there will be some loops and quick turns, but this time I want to return to the station and get off.

We started building our house in May 2006 and it was done at Thanksgiving. Put the townhouse on the market in July and literally closed on that the day AFTER we closed on the new house.

So we hade two homes for one day. It was an odd feeling.

Good luck!
