Wayback Wednesday - First Car

My first car was this beauty:

A 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity. At least I think it was from 1986. It was a box on wheels. I remember it being my Grandfather's and then my dad drove it and then it was given to me to use.  I swear the thing was indestructible.

This car took me on a first date, my boyfriend's Junior prom, trips to the shore and many many many other fun high school excursions.

For some reason I remember alternating between the Chevy and a Mercury Cougar:

I remember thinking that the Cougar was death on wheels. The breaks never worked and the tires didn't care too much for the rain. My father swore that this car was safe but to this day I still don't think so. My friends can tell you some stories from this car too. It was also a high school favorite! Gotta love the old high school car! I personally believe that every teenager who has a car should have a second/third hand beat up used car. It's much more fun than worrying about a shiney new car and helps you appreciate a newer car more when you grow up.

My first car was also a white 1985 Chevy Celebrity. Unfortunately it was destructible, needing engine mounts, tires, and a new fuel pump within the first 6 months. I remember it only had a an AM radio that got 2 stations only. I used my 1st paycheck after getting it to go to Best Buy and get a radio and speakers.
