One year ago, I got a call that I was being laid off from my job.
One year ago our house went on the market.
One year ago, the kids and I packed up and went to my mom's while the house was on the market.
One year ago, our current house looked like this....
It's crazy that that is a year ago, so many things have happened and changed it's unreal.
Losing my job was probably one of the best things that has happened to us. I am able to stay home with the kids, and I still get to work part time from home. Even though some days I would kill for 10 minutes to drink my coffee at my desk, BY MYSELF, but whatever.
The old house sold, I think in 12 days and the new owners are friends that we see when we are at old friends houses. No lie, it's odd having your old house only be around the corner and seeing it basically every week. The kids still talk about it when we drive by.
We are actually gearing up again to head to my parents in SC. Two weeks from tomorrow we are hitting the road.
The biggest transformation, is the street we currently live on. In a year the only lot left to be built on is the lot next to us and they started moving the dirt yesterday. All the other houses have filled in, the kids are riding bikes outside and running around and the adults are all getting to know each other better. We picked another great street to live on.
In one year a lot can change, a lot. Your whole world can be rocked but when you have a great family and friends you pull through and you make things happen. Can't wait to see what the next year holds for us!
