We packed it in this weekend, if we didn't do something this summer, we probably did it this weekend.
First up, camping in the back yard. Henry has been asking to do this all summer but it was just too hot and honestly we weren't sure if he was going to do it. So, Saturday was the perfect weather and we set up camp. Honestly, I think Henry only wanted to camp so he could eat smores ;)
Our neighbors joined us too, which made things even more fun. That last picture is Henry and Lucy in our tent doing what everyone does when they camp.....watching Toy Store on the iPad.
Henry did stay in the tent all night and got up around 7am. He had a great time and I hope we are able to do this again soon.
So, that was Saturday and Sunday we decided to redo the front flower bed. I hated the roses that were in there because they look more like weeds. Charlie was hesitant at first but then saw the light...and ripped out five of the rose bushes. The front bed looks so much better and so much cleaner. Another summer project, off the list.
Next up, taking Henry golfing. Our local golf course does a twilight rate and you can play as many holes before it gets dark. Gayle, thankfully watched Mary while Charlie, Charlie's Dad and I took Henry. It's been five years since I played and the water bottle in my golf bag would tell you so. Henry was pretty excited about driving in the golf cart and using the distance binoculars.
Earlier that day, Gayle had told him he was going golfing and she told him that I was going to play too. He looked at Gayle and said "Girls, don't play golf." Gayle told him they most certainly do. So, we get home from golfing and he runs in and Gayle asks him how it was and said see girls do play golf. His response, "Yeah, but she didn't hit the ball high enough." Thanks, kid.
It was a great weekend, we packed it in with fun activities and now we are ready to fill our weekends with football and more fun!
