16 years ago - flashback

Today is my niece's 16th Birthday. I mean holy wow, 16! I remember the call that early morning and us getting ready to get over to the hospital. She was probably the first baby I had ever really held.  I can still tell you I was wearing a light blue plaid button down shirt and khaki shorts, why I remember this I don't know. She was tiny, she was stinking adorable, that little burrito wrapped in the hospital swaddle.

This morning after I went through that morning meeting her, I started to think about what I was doing 16 years ago and wow, was that a fun time in my life.

I was going into my junior year at USC, Charlie was starting his freshman year (yeah, I know), I was getting ready for Kappa Recruitment to start, band camp was looming (again, I know), some of my best friends were also starting their freshman year, I had short hair (dumb move), I was carefree, no worries, had a boyfriend who would later break up with me, had my best friends from home, I was loving life. Loving a different life that is, one that was 16 years ago.

After looking through these pictures, I realized that I still talk to a lot of the people in these pictures. One I will see on Saturday, one lives up the road, and the others are all amazing women that I connect with on Facebook or in other ways. Obviously, the last picture is of me and my niece and to her I hope she can look back on her 16 years and have some wonderful memories. The Nardiello Family: 16 years ago - flashback
