Must Discuss Weekend

So, by now, I'm sure many of you know about the storm that ripped through the area on Friday night. It was the craziest thing, well I guess not crazier then the earthquake but certainly more damaging.

I was sleeping when I heard the winds start, then we heard a loud crashing noise. I ran downstairs and Charlie ran up from the basement. We both were like, what was that? We realized it was our deck umbrella and that it was cut completely in half. Charlie was able to get onto the deck before the umbrella turned into a javelin. Our power only flickered, THANK GOD. Many people are still without power today and some don't even know when it will come back on. Both kids, slept through the whole thing.

Saturday morning, we looked around and there really was not that much damage in our area. A few lights were out but nothing major compared to other parts. Our friend had a tree fall on his work car in Arlington. The picture is unreal.

Later that morning we headed over to Maryland for some pictures to be taken by the amazing Helen of Helen John Photography. Seriously, if you are in the DC area, call her, she is amazing. Helen and I know each other because Henry and L(her son) were born around the same time and we met through a moms group. This is the first time she took pictures for us and it certainly will not be the last. Here are the preview pictures she sent us.

I'm sorry, did you just say AMAZING, because yes, yes they are and I seriously cannot wait to see the rest of them. She is already talking about mini sessions in the Fall. I will be signing up as soon as she posts about it.

Later that afternoon, the Bakers came over. We hung out, grilled out and then Steve and Charlie took Julia and Henry up to see the Brambleton fireworks. Henry loves him some fireworks. They of course had fun. When they got home, Henry could barely keep his eyes open. I think he slept until almost 9am on Sunday.

Sunday was spent running errands, buying the bed that I posted about yesterday and dinner with the family. Never a dull moment around here.

Tomorrow is the 4th and then we are headed to New Jersey on Thursday for the annual Lake Picnic. We are very very excited since this will be Mary's 1st year in the Doo Da parade. The Nardiello Family: Must Discuss Weekend
